On October 28, the Center for Innovative Education - the leader of the FOLM project - "From Outdoors to Labour Market" and Lewiatan Confederation signed a cooperation agreement within the scope of the FOLM project.
Lewiatan Confederation is the most influential Polish business organization representing the interests of employers in Poland and the European Union.
Lewiatan Confederation link over 4,100 companies employing a total of over 1 million people. Lewiatan Confederation is a member of the Social Dialogue Council
As the only organization of Polish employers it has a representation in Brussels and belongs to Business Europe - the largest European organization representing the interests of entrepreneurs and employers towards the European Commission, the European Parliament and other EU institutions.
In Poland, the FOLM project will include over 300 people living in the Warmian-Masurian and Podlasie provinces, which have one of the lowest rates of professional activity.
The high level of occupational inactivity of their residents generates one of the highest unemployment rates in the country.
Today, business needs motivated and committed staff, which is why initiatives such as FOLM are worth supporting. However, we must remember that it is only a drop in the ocean of needs. In order for the Polish economy to receive an injection of human capital, it is necessary to provide system support for this type of projects - said Maciej Witucki, president of Lewiatan.
We hope that thanks to FOLM young people will find a right educational and vocational path, and employers - through www.folmweb.com - access to motivated potential employees. FOLM is the first, most important step to their activation – said Joanna Bochniarz, president of CIE, managing FOLM project.
The ceremony of signing the agreement was attended by many honourable guests, including Tomasz Frankowski - Member of the European Parliament of the 9th term, who said:
I am sure that this is a very valuable project. As far as I am concerned, I will strongly support FOLM on both, national and European, level.
We will meet with Tomasz Frankowski in December at the 14th New Education Forum in Brussels, during which we will show how the FOLM project works in Poland, Spain and Ireland. However, cooperation with the Lewiatan Confederation has already started and we hope that its effects will be visible soon.
